  • About Thor

    Thor is a handsome retired greyhound who is ready to hang up his racing silks and trade them in for a lifetime of sofa naps.

    At first glance, his sleek coat and athletic build are truly impressive, but it is his sweet, goofy personality that really steals the show. Since arriving with us, Thor has proven himself to be a wonderful companion who is eager to please and even more eager to find a family to call his own.

    He is a social butterfly when it comes to people and has already shown us that he gets on brilliantly with older children. We are planning to introduce him to younger children very soon to see how he fares, but his affectionate nature suggests he just wants to be everyone's best friend.

    When he isn’t leaning in for a cuddle, Thor is a vibrant and playful soul. He has a genuine passion for his toys and will happily entertain you with his zoomies and play-bows. He is also highly motivated by treats, which makes him a fantastic student for continued training. Whether it’s a squeaky toy or a tasty snack, Thor’s enthusiasm for the simple things in life is absolutely infectious.

    Regarding his social life with other dogs, he feels right at home in the company of his own breed and would happily live with another Greyhound. However, he is still learning that life includes dogs of all shapes and sizes! At the moment, he finds other breeds a bit too exciting. We are committed to working on his socialization here, but for his initial transition into a home, we are looking for a household where he can either be the only pet or live alongside other greyhounds.

  • An Ideal Home

    As Thor is still relatively new to our care, we are enjoying getting to know all his little quirks and charms. We will continue to update his profile as his true personality blossoms further, but we already know that he is a fun, cuddly, and devoted boy who deserves the very best. If you have room on your sofa and in your heart for this beautiful black beauty, Thor is waiting to meet you.

    Thor is not suitable to live with cats.

    Thor, born 07/06/22, was formerly know as Droopys Metaphor in his racing days at Yarmouth, Romford, Towcester and in Ireland. He raced 32 times, his last being on 12th November 2025.
