  • About Harry

    Harry first joined us back in November and is currently our longest stayer. He is on the smaller side for a male Greyhound but still has a huge personality!

    Harry did spend some time in a home recently, but we discovered that he is a sensitive lad who finds the unpredictable energy of a busy, high-activity household a bit too overwhelming. Because he finds it difficult to truly switch off when there is a lot of hustle and bustle, we are now dedicated to finding him a home that matches his own nature.

    This stunning boy is the definition of a gentle giant when out and about. He is friendly with other breeds of dogs. However, when it comes to his home life, Harry is a bachelor at heart who deeply treasures his own space. He is looking to be the only dog in the household, as he truly thrives when he has a quiet corner to call his own where he can stretch out and relax without being disturbed. He isn't looking for a canine playmate; he is looking for a tranquil retirement where he can enjoy the luxury of his own bed and the undivided attention of his humans.

    On the lead, Harry remains an absolute dream, walking with a calm demeanor that makes every walk a pleasure.

  • An Ideal Home

    Because he thrives on predictability, Harry would be most ideally suited to a retired couple, a single person, or perhaps a family with older, teenage children who understand and respect his need for quiet.

    Harry has recently passed his initial cat testing, suggesting he may have the potential to live with a feline companion. However, it is important to note that he will require further testing to ensure he remains comfortable, and any potential home with a cat would need to commit to very careful, slow, and supervised introductions to ensure everyone stays happy and relaxed.

    If you lead a low intensity lifestyle and have room on your rug for a gentle companion who asks for very little but offers a lifetime of loyalty, Harry is waiting to find his way to you!

    Harry, born 9th September 2021 was formerly know as Harry Up Ella in his racing days at Yarmouth. He raced 89 times, his last being on 8th October 2025.
