  • About Zara

    Zara is a girl who wears her heart on her sleeve, and she is looking for someone who speaks her language.

    She first came to us back in November and we were so hopeful when she found a home, but life isn’t always a straight line. Zara struggled to settle in her previous environment and has returned to our care. She is a super sweet and incredibly gentle retired greyhound who is simply dreaming of a quiet life.

    If you are the kind of person who is willing to wait for a dog to come out of their shell, Zara will absolutely blow you away. Once she feels that spark of connection and forms a true bond, she is wonderful. You’ll get to see all the different sides of her personality.

    She is a professional at the quiet life and her favourite hobbies include claiming her bed as her kingdom and soaking up every second of a good belly rub.

    Zara is also a fantastic roommate for the right crowd. She has lived successfully with a cat since November with no issues, and she gets along famously with male dogs. While she isn't a fan of other female dogs, she would be a wonderful companion for a calm boy or as an only dog.

    She would be happy in a home with calm, older children who understand that a dog like Zara needs a peaceful space to truly shine.

  • An Ideal Home

    She is looking for a quiet household, ideally with a patient family who understands that a deep bond isn't built overnight but is well worth the wait.

    While she would be perfectly happy as the only dog, she would also love a home with a calm male canine companion to show her the ropes.

    Because she has successfully lived with a cat since November, she is a great match for a home with feline friends.

    Zara would thrive best in an adult only home or one with calm, older children who can respect her space while she settles into her routine.

    More than anything, she needs a family who will give her the grace to come out of her shell at her own speed, offering her the stability she needs to finally let her guard down and stay for good.

  • Pinkys Lady

    Born February 18th 2020, Zara was known as Pinkys Lady in her racing days at Yarmouth. She had 103 races, her last being on 4th March 2024.

    She placed:

    1st - 11 times

    2nd - 22 times

    3rd - 22 times
